IT IS MY DESIRE

Almost forty years ago as a young Pentecostal preacher I tired of religious rhetoric traditions and politics. I almost lost out with God thinking there was no reality to be found. Surrounded by pretend miracles, phony healing's, fake prophesies, and carnal men pleasing messages I just wanted to opt out. Witnessing the initiation of theatrics in a anything goes to gather a crowd charade of nonsense, I despaired of hope. Then God in His mercy introduced me to The Body of Christ. No I don't think we are any better than anyone out there, I just think we are especially blessed. What we have is not everything it should be, but what we have is real.
I know there are those who are wanting in many things, and am sure that in many ways I too am wanting, but I also know that what we have is more than anything else I have ever seen. I treasure this vision and pray that I never lose it. We are not the fulfillment of what God is doing in the earth today, but I truly believe we are those called to be that fulfillment. We do not possess all the truth, but I truly believe we are called to the restoration of the truth.
I long to see us have order, without becoming an organization. I long to see us have leadership, without suffering under lordship. I long to see judgement, without men exercising for gain politics. I long to see the Church restored to divine order before I breathe my last breath. I have no desire to be the head of anything or anyone. I am too old and too tired to rule. My desire is to see this Body come to the fullness God has called it to. I would gladly forfeit all recognition and influence to just see us get it right.
Some think that a loose fellowship hinging on anarchy and mob rule will bring about proper judgement and order. Some think that all men should be of equal authority and say in all things, and that every man has the God given right to do what is right in his own eyes. This has never before been so; why would they think it so now? We are called to be the Body of Christ. Not just to call ourselves The Body of Christ but to be The Body of Christ. It is my desire that we see the Lord, to do so we must purify ourselves even as He is pure, 1st. John 3:1-3. We can do it because He said we could. To do it we must with broken hearts and contrite spirits humble ourselves and pray.
